Lesson 1: GOD’ WORD HEALS
Jesus came to give you life!
Where do we find truth and answers when we have questions in life?
God’s Word is truth and has all the answers.
John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10 (AMPC)
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
· Jesus is contrasting Himself with things that steal, kill and destroy.
· If anything comes into our lives that steal, kills, or destroys, it did not come from God.
John 6:63 (NKJV)
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER
Luke 8:5–8 (NKJV)
“A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.”

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”
· The seed (God’s Word) can produce a harvest in every person.
· The condition of the heart determines if the seed will grow, spring up, and produce a crop.
Mark 4:26 (NKJV)
“And He said, ‘The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground…”’
· The seed is powerless until it’s planted.
· What we do with the Word of God determines how fruitful our lives will become.
· God has provided healing for us in His Word.
Proverbs 4:20–22 (NKJV)
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
· Health - (marpe) curative, literally a medicine, a cure; deliverance, healing, remedy, sound, wholesome.

HOW TO TAKE GOD’S MEDICINE
· Give attention to the Word.
· Incline your ear to the Word.
· Don't let them depart from your eyes.
· Keep them in the midst of your heart.
Keep - This is the same word that God used to tell Adam to “keep” the garden. The word “keep” in Hebrew represents tending, watching, vigilance, and protecting something from an evil enemy.
We are to “keep” the Word of God in our hearts with vigilance, knowing there is an enemy arrayed against us who wants to steal, kill, destroy, and deceive.
GOD’S WORD IS MEDICINE AND LIFE
Proverbs 4:22 (NKJV)
“For they are life to those who find them, and health (medicine) to all their flesh.”
· The word “life” in Proverbs 4:22 is the same word King Hezekiah used after he was healed by God.
Isaiah 38:16 (NKJV)
“O Lord, by these things men live; And in all these things is the life of my spirit; So You will restore me and make me live.”
HE SENT HIS WORD TO HEAL
Psalm 107:20 (NKJV)
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
· Healed: (rapha) to cure, to cause to heal, physician, repair, thoroughly make whole, which restores health.
Psalm 107:20 (NLT)
“He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.”
HOW CAN YOU GET THESE SCRIPTURES INTO YOUR HEART?
Psalm 119:97 (NKJV)
“Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
· Meditate on the Word of God regarding healing.
HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO GET THE WORD OF GOD INTO YOU?
· As food is to your physical body, the Word of God is to your inner man (your heart).
Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)
“But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
FAITH FOR HEALING COMES FROM HEARING GOD’S WORD REGARDING HEALING
Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
· Faith is of the heart, not your head (intellect).
· Faith is not mental agreement or mental assent.
Romans 10:10 (NKJV)
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
· Planting God’s healing Word into your heart is the first step to reaping a harvest of healing.
· The seed of God’s Word will spring up and grow when planted in the good soil of your heart.
