Lesson 4: YOUR FAITH CAN MAKE YOU WHOLE

Matthew 9:27–30 (KJV)

“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. 28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 30 And their eyes were opened…”

·      “According to your faith” — It will go the way that you believe!

·      Locate your faith by listening to your words

·      What words have you been saying about your healing?

WHAT IS FAITH?

Romans 10:10 (KJV)

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

·      Faith is of the heart.

Hebrews 10:38 (NKJV)

“Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:1 (AMPC)

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”

·      “Faith begins where the will of God is known.” - FF Bosworth, Christ the Healer

·      The Word of God is the will of God.

WHERE DOES FAITH COME FROM?

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

·      “Faith is the open door through which the Lord comes." - Smith Wigglesworth

IS FAITH REALLY THAT IMPORTANT?

Hebrews 10:38 (NKJV)

“Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

·      Jesus commended great faith.

·      Jesus rebuked little faith.

·      Jesus rebuked “no faith.”

3 OBSTACLES TO FAITH

·      Hope in the place of faith

·      Doubt

·      Unbelief

“If the enemy can move you from a place of faith, he can get you outside the plan of God.” - Smith Wigglesworth

HOW DOES UNBELIEF STOPPED THE MIRACLES OF JESUS?

Mark 6:5–6 (NKJV)

“Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.”

Hebrews 4:2 (NKJV)

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”

HOW DO MIRACLES HAPPEN?

Luke 5:4–7 (NKJV)

“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’ 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.’ 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”

·      When Peter acted on the Word, he received a miracle.

·      He didn’t lean on his own understanding; he just did what Jesus told him to do.

·      He obeyed the Word of God.

ABRAHAM - EXAMPLE OF FAITH

Romans 4:18–21 (KJV)

“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD - EXAMPLE OF FAITH

Mark 5:25–34 (NKJV)

“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” 31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing.

But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

HOW WAS THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD HEALED?

Mark 5:25–34 (NKJV)

“He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.’”

·      Her faith made her whole.

IF HER FAITH MADE HER WHOLE,

YOUR FAITH CAN MAKE YOU WHOLE!

WHAT DID THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD DO TO RECEIVE HEALING?

·      She heard. Mark 5:27 says, “She heard about Jesus.”

·      She spoke faith-filled words. Mark 5:28 says, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

·      She acted on her faith. Mark 5:27 says, “She came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.”

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO RECEIVE HEALING?

·      Listen to healing Scriptures. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

·      Speak faith-filled words. Second Corinthians 4:13 says, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”

·      Act on your faith. Romans 10:8 says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.”
