Men of Prayer
"Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops” (James 5:17-18). In this passage, God reminds us that Elijah was a man just like us. In essence, He is saying if Elijah can do it, you can too. This encourages me every time I read it. If we will just take steps toward prayer and respond to Him, consider how much can be changed!

During this historic global situation, these words rise up continually in my heart: “…making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16 NIV). The King James Version says, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
